Philippine Call Centers – Use Your Common Sense

There are many ways to distinguish a good Philippine call center from a bad one. Before you put your mind to hiring a company, make sure that you try out a lot of companies before you make your decision.

Actually, this advice is just plain common sense. When you're out trying to buy a new laptop, you're not going to be easily influenced by the flashing features displayed on a store's counter, do you? What you do is you will try to test it yourself, and see if the laptop has everything in it. This is also true for call center companies. You don't just believe them when they say they're the best, right? You have to do the actual thing -- sit down with them and listen on their actual calls. Also, you might want to pay attention to how the call center agents interact with their customers. Are they polite and patient with them? Do they have enough knowledge to answer all the questions of the customers competently? How are the supervisors and managers? How do they interact with those under them? These may sound trivial, but knowing the leadership styles the higher ups will give you a fair assessment of how well the company is taking care of their employees. Remember: The more they are happy, the better their performance will be.

There you have it. Choosing the best Philippine call center for your business is easy if you invest enough time and effort in it. Make sure you do your homework so you can make your business grow and succeed in the future.

Outbound Call Center in the Philippines

It’s sad but true – it’s challenging to work in an outbound call center in the Philippines. It’s not because of the job per se, but the nature of the job itself. Yes, I know it’s not really difficult to dial some digits on the telephone. It’s not also difficult to ask for someone to talk to you. However, what is difficult is the outright rejection that goes alongside with it. Really, can you imagine dialing someone’s number that you don’t even know and then trying to strike up a conversation with them? Really -- it gives me the jitters, just by thinking about it.

The thing is, I’m really scared of strangers. Ever since I was a kid, I’ve always felt like throwing up whenever I was forced to talk to them for a long period of time. I still remember that time when we were at a party at my friend’s house. I remember how scared I was I hid inside the walk-in closet for 45 minutes. Really – 45 minutes! Can you imagine that?? Even now, I still think I might do it if I’m pressed against a wall or something. I guess I’ve never outgrown this phobia, because up until now, I still feel like the cat got my tongue whenever I’m forced to talk to strangers. It’s really stressful just thinking about it.

That’s why I will never work in an outbound call center in the Philippines. Although it’s an exciting job, I’d much rather prefer working in a place where I don’t have to deal with all kinds of strangers.

Philippine Call Center – Why I Love Working for It

I work in a Philippine call center, and all I can say is that I LOVE IT!

Yes, I know – it’s a bit tiring and draining. There are moments I wish I don’t live the life of a vampire and suck the blood off my colleagues; there are moments when I pray that the coffee machine will change into Starbucks overnight; there are days I look at a keyboard and wish it was my mother-in-law; there are instances I enumerate the zip codes of the United States while I am sleeping; and there are moments I press the mute button for too long while I listen to the cusses of my irate customers.

Yes, it has its challenges, but it also has its benefits. Where else can you find a place where the pay is bigger than the salaries of managers? Where else can you find a job where you and your colleagues can bond over gossip, angst, coffee and lots of cigarettes while having a marvelously glorious time with everyone?

Only in a Philippine call center. And yes, I will repeat this again and again until I turn blue --- I love working in a place like this.

Philippine Call Center – An Unusual Place To Work In

My sister works at a Philippine call center and I have to admit that her anecdotes about her work are at times funny, and if not, a bit poignant as well. She has a lot of them, and believe me – really lots of them.

I’m not saying this to demean the call center industry – believe me, I have a lot of respect for them. I just want to say that working at a call center allows you a lot of leeway for unusual experiences, primarily because the people who are working there have very colorful and fascinating personalities as well. The truth is, you can’t survive in this kind of scenario if you don’t have an unusual personality to go alongside it. Who would want a boring caller, right? Who would like to hear a grating voice that can shred cheese in one instant? And wonder of wonders -- who would want to listen to someone who has the charisma of a wet newspaper? Get the picture?

That’s why I think that working at a Philippine call center is very good for those who are looking for something unusual in their lives. Not only will you be called an unusual person yourself, you will also have the privilege of earning more than those who work in dull, boring jobs. Nothing beats that.
